Job Description

Provide administrative support to Student Services.

Job Duties

• Provide non-stop service to prospective, current, and past students in all aspects of Student Services.
• Efficient, timely, and accurate response to internal and external inquiries via phone, e-mail and in-person.
• Follow all data entry standards.
• Safeguard the privacy of education records maintained by Touro College and University System.
• Issue standard correspondence to applicants and current students.
• Provide general office support, assistance with various mailings, and special projects.
• Participate in internal and external events.
• Actively participate with the Student Services team and receive direction from supervising lead members of staff.
• Responsible for fundamental functions related to the following Student Service offices:

o Office of Admissions
 Provide accurate and complete counselling on the Touro College and University System program offerings.
 Cultivate, track and monitor inquiries throughout the application process.
 Receive and evaluate applications received through various methods including third party application services.
 Review applicant files to insure compliance with College admission policies.
 Correspond with applicants of various programs advising them of their current status throughout the application process including decision letters.
 Effectively communicate with prospective students.
 Receive and update supplemental application materials.
 Maintain and update data on the student information system.

o Office of Financial Aid
 Counsel and advice students on general financial aid options.

o Office of the Registrar
 Assists with class scheduling and registration.
 Process add/drop forms, name changes, transcript requests and other related services.
 Process student account holds and removal.
 Reviews and records immunization documentation required for enrollment.
 Transfer credit evaluation and application based on academic department standards and policies.
 Verifies enrollment statuses for students, including loan deferments, insurance forms, full time letters, State Board verifications and degree verifications.
 Assists with the graduation audit process.
 Diploma distribution.
 Accurately maintains the student records.

o Office of the Bursar
 Responding to general billing inquiries.
 Process student account holds, application and removal.
 Advising on payment plan options and assisting in implementation.
 Assisting with refund processing.

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new computer systems and operating procedures, as needed.
• Energetic, personable and team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Computer Skills
• Good word-processing skills (min. 30 words/p/min)
• Computer literacy, Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook

• Travel to other Touro College campuses.
• Travel to external student recruitment events (e.g. college fairs).
