Job Description

Under the direction of the Dean the Associate Dean assumes a leadership role in developing and growing healthcare management programs, identifying new markets, forging relationships and partnerships with healthcare employers, and monitoring curriculum quality and student outcomes.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and modifying the healthcare management courses, degree and certificate programs. Overseeing the development of workshops/presentations related to healthcare management including recruitment events and materials, new student orientation, and business development opportunities. Evaluating and assisting the development of professional development plans and goals for students. Assisting the Director of Career Services with the development of employment and internship opportunities. Working with the Dean to recruit, hire, coach, and manage instructors of healthcare management courses. Instructing at least two healthcare management courses per year.
Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
Terminal degree
At least 5 years’ experience in academic leadership in accredited institution providing education in healthcare
Relationships with healthcare employers in the New York City metro area
Graduate teaching experience in healthcare

Knowledge of:
How academic programs are developed, launched, accredited and sustained
Graduate recruitment, enrollment management, and student success initiatives
Job sourcing in healthcare management for full and part-time positions, shadow assignments and internships
How to develop and facilitate information sessions, presentations, and workshops for employers and students
Experience operating in an environment of constrained resources
Comfortable working with individuals and teams of diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Team player with positive attitude
Effective communicator in oral and written mediums
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
