Job Description

Equipment repair and maintenance specialist responsible for installation and maintenance of dental machines in the clinic and simulation lab. Includes troubleshooting issues as well as various other mechanical and electrical problems. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown, correct the problem and responsible for maintaining the dental equipment. Ability to perform other duties as assigned. May include working evenings and weekends.

Job Duties

• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers for dental machines in the clinic and in the simulation lab
• Identify problems with a variety of testing devices
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
• Install dental equipment and machines
• Familiar with test instruments and reading circuit diagrams
• Ensures that work is done in accordance with relevant codes and standards
• Complete all paperwork such as time sheets, time & material sheets & material lists time fare compiled for work assigned, in a timely and accurate manner
• Approach situations with a responsible, tenacious and accountable attitude
• Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to Management immediately and documented

• Knows to test, recondition, and replace/repair faulty items
• Ability to carry out routine scheduled maintenance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in dental equipment repair/maintenance
• Good communication skills
• High school or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Be cable to carry heavy items
