Job Description

The Director of Clinical Operations oversees the administrative and clinical operations of the college’s dental teaching facility, Touro Dental Health, a new, state-of-the-art full service dental clinic serving the Hudson Valley. He/she is responsible for the supervision and direction of administrative and clinical support staff, development and enforcement of clinic policies and procedures, and other operational activities including budget, schedules and inventory.

Job Duties

• Provide training, mentoring and evaluation of front-line administrative and clinical support staff to accomplish goals, establishing clear work standards and expectations
• Participate in the development and implementation of processes for workflow, logistics and customer service to improve clinic operations and ensure a positive and seamless patient care delivery system
• Support the leadership team with operational processes related to compliance/regulations, insurance and billing practices, and updates to patient policies and consent forms
• Manage the schedules of administrative and clinical staff, including faculty and students
• Prepare regular financial and patient recruitment reports for leadership
• Participate as a member of the patient care coordinator team to handle patient call volume and provide front-desk support as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• A minimum of 3+ years in senior-level management of a small to mid-size medical practice, preferably in Dental
• Proven track record developing operational processes and customer service initiatives
• Strong understanding of insurance plans, medical billing and revenue cycle analysis
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and compliance issues in a clinical setting
• Proven leadership abilities working with a multi-disciplined team, including Human Resources skills
• Professional communications skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive work style and positive attitude are essential
• Strong knowledge of clinical database systems, such as Axium PatientAccess Portal preferred
• Spanish speaking a plus
