Job Description

Assist in daily operations related to the Mobile Diabetes Education Center, provide support and guidance to other team members.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Establish relationships with community partners and enhance awareness of the Diabetes Prevention Program, Diabetes Empowerment and Education Program and Mobile Diabetes Education Center
• Serve as a liaison, ambassador, and advocate for the Diabetes Program at Touro CA
• Assist the coordinator in all aspects of planning, implementation and evaluation of Touro CA Diabetes Programs
• Support staff and volunteers in implementing TU Diabetes Programs

Required Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Preparation, and Training
Knowledge of basic health, nutrition and fitness principles
Knowledge of the principles of behavior change, including motivational interviewing techniques
Familiarity with the public health community
Passion in community health and serving the needs of people affected by Diabetes
Flexibility to work with people from all walks of life and with a variety of stakeholders (participants, physicians, health care providers, public health officials, employers, payers)
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizing skills
Health Education/Community Health degree preferred

Attentiveness to details and data collection
Fluent in Spanish preferred

Computer Skills
