Job Description

Provide administrative support to the Office of Admissions in the Division of Graduate Studies.

Job Duties

Assists the admissions process to include, but not limited to the following:

• Provide a high level of customer service to prospective and current students, as well as academic departments and other college admissions offices
• Respond to inquiries about academic programs and the admissions process from prospective and current students via phone, e-mail and in person
• Evaluate academic transcripts to determine eligibility for graduate studies
• Enter, maintain, and update a high volume of inquiry and applicant data in an accurate and timely manner using the Student Information Systems Database: Hobsons AY and TouroOne Banner.
• Assemble application files, match supporting documents (e.g., transcripts), and insure that files are complete and up-to-date
• Review application files to insure compliance with admission policies
• Issue standard correspondence to applicants including decision letters to applicants
• Assist at Touro information sessions, orientation programs and other college functions
• Attend recruitment events; professional and graduate fairs.
• Extract data for enrollment management reporting and analyses using Microsoft Excel
• Supervise the department’s federal work-study student worker(s).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• BA or BS degree from an accredited institution.
• Relevant experience

Skills
• Must have excellent analytical and computer skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Strong customer service
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work
• Car necessary

Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook

Travel
• Travel to local areas including occasional evenings and Sundays. Overnight travel as well.
