Job Description

The Recruiter will support student recruitment and participate in the admissions decision process. In addition to individual recruiting, the Recruiter will participate in recruitment events, will follow up on inquiries and leads and will participate in outreach on behalf of NYSCAS through information sessions and other recruiting events. The position involves some travel and occasional evening/weekend hours. Bi-lingual skills required (Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish or Urdu).

Job Duties

• Meet or exceed enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment area
• Develop and maintain relationships with guidance counselors at local high schools, local ethnic organizations and neighborhood associations where people congregate to promote the college
• Represent Touro at local recruitment events, both on and off campus
• Speak publicly to individuals, groups on and off campus
• Process all admissions applications, documents, inquiries and admission forms assigned
• Follow up on applicants throughout the Admissions process
• Evaluate and execute admission decisions on applicant files for new and returning students
• Serve as liaison between students and academic departments
• Perform Transfer Credit assessment for accepting new students
• Ability to work autonomously in the NYSCAS admissions process
• Ability to identify processes in the department that need improvement and provide solutions
• Register 65% of the qualified applicants interviewed
• Organize Open Houses and Information Sessions
• General knowledge of all programs offered
• Perform other assignments as requested by the Director of Admissions, Site Director or School Deans

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
Bachelor’s degree required
3-4 years of experience in college admissions

Skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency
Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Problem solving and organizational skills
Detail oriented, customer service orientation, ability to work independently and as part of a team

Computer Skills
Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet research and Outlook. Demonstrated computer proficiency in academic computing

Travel
Travel to local area including occasional evenings and Sundays Work takes place in Administrative Offices as well as outside venues
