Job Description

To assist the administrative staff in the evening functioning of the Department of Nursing. Duties include clerical and administrative tasks, dealings with the public and college personnel, and work delegated by Chairperson

Job Duties

• Answering phones, screen, and direct calls
• Take and relay messages
• Provide information to callers
• Greet persons entering organization
• Direct persons to correct destination
• Deal with Queries from the public and customers
• Ensure knowledge of staff movement in and out of the organization
• Tidy and maintain the reception area

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• High School diploma required; college preferred
• Experience in administrative and clerical procedures and applications

• Typing/word processing of about 45 wpm
• Basic office methods, practices, and procedures, including filing systems, correspondence, standard English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Computer skills
• Ability to carry out oral and written directions
• Able to make independent decisions
• Communicate effectively
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Be flexible and receptive to change
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Initiative
• Reliability
Computer Skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook

• Occasional local travel for training sessions
