Job Description

The MA in Marriage and Family Therapy program at Touro University Worldwide (TUW) was established as an online program in 2011, with several cohorts of current students. The program has been taught and supervised by both administrative and full and part time faculty including coordinators of the Practicum Component of the program.

TUW is currently seeking a licensed MFT with a Doctoral Degree in MFT or related field to both direct the program academically and clinically. The Director would be directly reporting to the Provost.

• Full-Time Faculty located in Los Alamitos CA

• Full time – 12 month position

Job Duties

• Recruit and interview potential Part-Time Adjunct faculty for the program.

• Oversee academic requirements of program to be consistent and in full compliance with accrediting agencies (e.g., California BBS, COAMFTE and WSCUC)

• Supervising the Coordinators of the Practicum in the program who oversee students’ clinical placements.

• Attend AAMFT meetings as applicable

• Maintain placement sites in the regional area for students each year.

• Establish new and maintain present contracts between practicum sites and TUW together with the coordinator of the practicum.

• Conduct site visits together with the Practicum Coordinator as applicable

• Maintain contact between site supervisors.

• Meet with students each year to determine appropriate placement via WebEx or other means of communication.

• Maintain student files with appropriate BBS and COAMFTE documentation.

• Responsible for the administrative functioning of the Program, which includes planning, organizing, directing and controlling the Program.

• Acts as the Privacy Contact for the Program, maintaining all required records, logs, and systems in compliance with regulatory agencies.

• Motivate students to achieve learning outcomes in interactive class discussions

• Interact with an academically and culturally diverse student population

• Provide timely responses and grading for students

• Teach at least one MFT course per session

• Maintain current and relevant scholarship and participate in community service associated with the MFT field

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral/Terminal Degree (from a COAMFTE accredited university/college)

• One to two years teaching experience in MFT or closely related field

• Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist

• Currently an AAMFT Clinical Fellow

• Currently certified as AAMFT Approved Supervisor or AAMFT Supervisor Candidate

• Proficient in Microsoft Business Suite.

• Professional communication skills; oral and written and basic math skills are required
