Job Description

Administrative support for the Admissions office, including data entry, scheduling appointments, providing information, assembling admission packets, research and general office work

Job Duties

A. Assist in the administration of the Admissions department to include, but not limited to the following:
• Meet or exceed enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment area.
• Represent Touro College at local recruitment events, both on and off campus.
• Develop and maintain relationships with guidance counselors at local high schools, local ethnic organizations and neighborhood associations where people congregate to promote the college.
• Coordinate special events & programs.
• Code Freshmen Center Application.
• Perform data entry of all admissions applications, documents, inquiries and admission forms received through the Admissions department.
• Organize Open Houses and Information Sessions.
• Speak publicly to individuals and groups, on and off campus.
• Follow up with applicants throughout the admissions process.
• Discuss tuition costs, financial aid and payment options with students.
• Serve as liaison between students and academic departments.
• Perform transfer credit assessments for accepting new students.
• Evaluate and execute admission decisions for new and returning students.
• Obtain and maintain up-to-date general knowledge of all programs offered.
• Refer and direct students in interest in graduate program to appropriate Directors.
• Perform other assignments as requested by the VP of Student Services, Director of Admissions, Site Director or School Deans.

• Meets annual assessment requirements.
• Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with clients, staff and other members of the Touro College community.
• Answers telephones in an appropriate, professional manner, and resolves problems in a reasonable time frame.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-4 years of experience in college admissions or related fields is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Written and Verbal command of English Language
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in academic computing
• Demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communication
• Problem solving and organizational skills
• Detail oriented, customer service oriented, ability to work independently

Physical Demands

• Extensive use of computers
• Extensive time sitting and standing
• Able to lift up to 5 lbs

Special Conditions for Eligibility

• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet research
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in academic computing

• Frequent travel within local area including occasional evenings and Sundays
• Work takes place in Administrative Offices as well as outside venues
