Job Description

As the program coordinator for Touro University California’s partnership in the Vallejo Career Pathways Trust (VCPT) grant, this position will support the development of teacher and administrative preparation programs at Touro University California that promotes the evidence based assumptions and core principles of the VCPT

Job Duties

• Coordinate and participate in advisory and grant coordination meetings with the Vallejo City Unified School District. (monthly/quarterly)
• Develop training and curricula for teacher and administrator programs that focuses on the region’s career pathways and industry priorities
• Train GSOE Program Chairs in academic, career technical and work-based learning integration into instructional practices to better support adjunct faculty in their respective division
• Train Fieldwork Coordinators in academic, career technical and work-based learning integration into instructional practices to provide appropriate support and supervision of fieldwork
• Train Faculty and Adjunct Faculty in academic, career technical and work-based learning integration into instructional practices to deepen understanding of academic, career technical and work-based learning instructional practices and career pathway curriculum construction and support
• Support Faculty and Adjunct Faculty to modify course curriculum to integrate pedagogies, curriculum and structures that support academic, career technical and work-based learning instructional practices and pathway support needs
• Work with the Vallejo City Unified School District to develop an externship or job shadow program for teacher and administrator candidates to better connect classroom learning to current career expectations.
• Develop and deploy a survey to assess faculty, adjunct faculty and teacher candidates attitude and understanding of academic, career technical and work-based learning instructional practices before faculty training and teacher and administrator candidate instruction begins
• Develop and deploy a survey to assess faculty, adjunct faculty and teacher and administrator candidates attitude and understanding of academic, career technical and work-based learning instructional practices. Survey participants will focus on students in teacher and administrator preparation program who have worked with new academic, career technical and work-based learning material for 6-9 months
• Collect and showcase evidence where academic, career technical and work-based learning practices are taking place in administrator preparation programs, teacher preparation courses and teacher candidate classrooms
• Create exemplars for Institutions of Higher Education to demonstrate academic, career technical and work-based learning teacher and administrator preparation essentials for dissemination through
o Conferences
o Webinars
o Archived videos
o GSOE webpage
• Establish support for Health Academies by networking Healthcare Professionals from Touro University with the Vallejo City Unified School District pathways for the purpose of supporting career fairs and providing advising in the development of pathway programs of study and industry certifications
• Assess initial training and implementation of academic, career technical and work-based learning infusion in teacher and administrator preparation program in collaboration with the Vallejo City Unified School District
• Modify training and implementation of initial grant work of academic, career technical and work-based learning infusion in teacher and administrator preparation program

Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Adjunct faculty member/coach/program coordinator who specializes in career-themed instruction and work-based learning
• Adjunct faculty member/coach/program coordinator with experience in running trainings, observing intern, student teachers and adjunct faculty, and providing targeted feedback and assistance
• Adjunct faculty member/coach/program coordinator with experience building and maintaining a network of partnerships for purposes of supporting grant-funded initiatives
• Master’s Degree in appropriate field.
