Job Description

A faculty member in basic sciences is responsible to teach in the lecture and/or laboratory setting. He/she is assigned to provide instruction in a portion of the curriculum for which he/she has suitable training and experience .

Job Duties

The following outlines the basic responsibilities of this position. Other duties are to be assigned as necessary.

BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
A faculty member in basic sciences is responsible for providing instruction for a portion of the curriculum. He/she is not expected to conduct research but is expected to participate in COM service if he/she is employed full-time by TOUROCOM

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and deliver lectures or laboratory lessons on assigned topics
• Participate in assessment of student performance through appropriate examination methods) as assigned
• Promote an appropriate atmosphere for student education and be responsive to
students’ needs
• Serve on TOUROCOM committees, as assigned . Provide reports, budgetary information, and other documents) as requested by department
chairs) directors, and deans
• Advise and mentor students
• Participate in medical student admission interviews

Required Qualifications

The faculty member must have at least a Master’s degree. He/she must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience with a concentration in one of the basic medical sciences. Teaching experience at the medical or graduate school level is preferred.

• Enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to the growth and development of the basic science department(s) of the university.
