Job Description

Evaluates student records from other institutions primarily to determine applicability of transfer course work and, to determine transfer credit eligibility. Updates and maintains student information data system and resource material files.

Job Duties

• Conducts preliminary work and preparation on transcripts received and conducts transfer credits evaluation work.

• Records the receipt of a transcript in the student information system.

• Records appropriate transfer credit in the student information system.

• Provides instructions and additional information, as needed, to transfer students regarding the status of their evaluation.

• Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

• Handles questions from students, faculty and general public.

• Other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• Bachelor’s degree or significant work towards a bachelor’s degree.
• Equivalent to one year of experience related to student information records preferred and/or in enrollment area.
• Experience working with faculty/staff/students from post-secondary institutions.
• Experience evaluating policies and procedures.
• Experience working in an admission/registrar office in a post-secondary institution.
• Working knowledge of Banner INB preferred or working knowledge of other online student information systems to update, analyze, and interpret student data.

Skills
• Knowledge of policies and requirements governing transfer credit determination in a college setting.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research of academic information to determine applicable rules and regulations for transfer credit processes preferred.
• Ability to plan and manage daily workload to meet production goals.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
