Job Description

Reports to the Department Chair and the Clinical Director, the Clinical Supervisor has responsibility for supervision and assisting in administration of Speech and Hearing Center.

Job Duties

Assists the Clinical Director, with duties including but not limited to the following:

1. Direct and indirect supervision of graduate SLP students in practicum at Speech and Hearing Center.
a) Reviews session plans with correction/advisement to follow appropriate format for professional writing and meet needs of clients
b) Directs observation of sessions
c) Documents student session observations, as well as semester formative and summative assessment of student skills
d) Assists with sessions/evaluations as per student and/or client need
e) Reviews session notes
f) Reviews and corrects reports associated with client contact (progress reports, evaluation reports, etc.) to meet students’ professional writing requirements

2. Counsels students regarding therapeutic and/or evaluation techniques for upcoming sessions

3. Counsels students as follow-up to sessions; referrals for further readings, tapes, research to prepare for clients; counsels students to improve clinical skills

4. Tracks current materials and makes recommendations for suggested purchases of assessment materials, therapy materials or information for students as relevant to the Speech and Hearing Center

5. Provides speech/language assessment and therapy services to clients in the Speech and Hearing Center as a model for students
6. Interacts with clients and outside agencies regarding services offered in the Center.

7. Works with the Clinical Director and the Administrative Assistant to schedule clients for assessments and/or therapy sessions and coordinates with student clinician assignments.

8. Provides documentation of services as needed.

9. Works with the Clinical Director and Associate Clinic Director to assess and improve the functioning and services provided by the Speech and Hearing Center

10. Outreaches to the community relating to the Speech and Hearing Center

11. Maintains standards of HIPAA and Infection Control

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
State appropriate professional licensure
Minimum 3 years experience post-CF

Strong interpersonal skills
Strong writing skills
Ability to be organized and a have attention to detail
Ability to prioritize workload

Preferred Qualifications

Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Occasional travel to other branches for meetings

Physical Demands

Extensive Use of Computers
Extensive time sitting and standing
Able to lift up to 5 lbs.
