Job Description

The Clinical Clerkship Coordinator for clinical education is responsible for administrative duties related to clinical education under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education (DCE).

Job Duties

1. General administrative duties assigned by supervisor(s).
2. Assists DCE with routine duties related to clinical education including but not limited to preparing pre-clinical packets, mass mailings, routine correspondence, reports and projects assigned.
3. Answers phone calls, receives faxes, prepares reports, schedules student meetings and coordinates clinical education meetings both on and off-campus.
4. Maintains current and accurate clinical education student files and databases including but not limited to immunization/health screening requirements, CPR certifications, student time tracking logs, current student contact information.
5. Maintains current and accurate clinical education site files and databases including but not limited to updating clinical site addresses, phone numbers, and preceptor contact information and maintaining information for affiliation agreements.
6. Serves as a liaison to the DPT students and clinical sites in matters related to the technical aspects of clinical education.
7. Assists with on-going preceptor and clinical site development.
8. Assists the DCE in assessing availability of preceptors and clinical sites for scheduling of clinical experiences.
9. Facilitates correspondence with clinical sites and preceptors to provide necessary student and program documentation prior to clinical experiences.
10. Position includes occasional local travel to assist the DCE with clinical education responsibilities and clinical site development.
11. Provides back up support to the program administrative assistant when needed if schedule and workload permits.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Equivalent experience may substitute for education.

• 1-2 years of administrative assistant/coordinator experience required

*Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must have well developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, clinicians and other clinical education stakeholders.
• Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Possess strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe, ability to complete merge mailings and ability to quickly learn new software programs used for clinical education management.
• Ability to prioritize work duties and responsibilities when faced with distractions, interruptions and fluctuations in workload, must be able to work independently and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

• This position requires the individual to work in a variety of settings including office, classroom training environment and campus academic division/department offices
• This is a typical office environment with long periods of sitting working at a PC and occasionally required to stand, walk, bend and reach.
• Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs.

Special Conditions for Eligibility

Only internal applicants will be considered September 5th through September 11th. Both internal and external applicants will be considered beginning September 12th until the position is filled.
