Job Description

Reports to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management. Manages the Admissions process for the clinical programs in The School of Health Sciences and Practice – physical therapy and speech-language pathology. Facilitates the on-boarding process for incoming students with other offices within NYMC. Serves as student activities liaison between both departments and the Admissions Office. Assists in the overall administration of the Admissions Office.

Job Duties

1.Manages the Admissions process for PT and SLP

a. Sets up and maintains application status matrix in CAS
b. Reviews applications for completeness
c. Notifies applicants of missing application materials
d. Ensures that complete applications are moved to the department for review
e. Addresses inquiries with regard to applicant status
f. Communicates decisions to applicants
g. Prepares and sends admit packets
h. Keeps various constituencies updated with regard to status of the incoming class
i. Manages download of data from the CAS to the NYMC student information system
j. Prepares admission/enrollment reports for DPT and SLP programs

2. Facilitates on-boarding process for enrolling students

a. Monitors admitted student deposit process
b. Coordinates submission of required documents for incoming students to associated campus offices
c. Manages background check process for both departments

3. Serves as student activities liaison between Admissions and clinical departments
a. Communicates with department faculty and administrators with regard to student activities of note, e.g., DPT Research presentations
b. Shares activity updates with Director of Recruitment and drafts posts for social media and the website
c. Works with departments to update Student activities pages of the NYMC website

4. Assists with overall administration of the admissions office

a. Responsible for data entry of inquiries for DPT and SLP in admissions CRM
b. Prepares materials for DPT and SLP information sessions
c. Assist with web chats, information sessions and other recruitment/enrollment activities

5. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


(A) Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

(B) Licenses or certifications:Valid NYS Driver’s license

© Technical/computer skills:
Facility with MS Word, and Excel. Database creation and management desirable

(D) Prior experience:1-2 years office experience, preferably in a college/university setting

(E.) Other skills/requirements Strong communication skills(written, verbal, interpersonal) and organizational skills essential. Strong customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
