Job Description

The Director/Assistant Dean for Assessment reports to the Dean. The Director/Assistant Dean will lead and manage assessment activities to ensure continuous programmatic quality assurance and improvement in order to meet accreditation standards. He/she will collaborate with academic affairs and student affairs. He/she assists the Dean in academic matters including the preparation of accreditation and College and University level reports and projects. He/she will contribute to the teaching, research and scholarship missions of the college. He/she should possess excellent interpersonal skills to support the growth and development of the College of Pharmacy

Job Duties

Responsible for assessment of the College of Pharmacy’s mission, goals, objectives and strategic plan. Evaluates the PharmD professional program in conjunction with the Academic Standard Committee, Curriculum Committee and the Assessment Committee. Responsible for assessment of student learning and curricular effectiveness. Responsible for implementing a systematic plan for assessment of student learning and curricular effectiveness that are quantifiable, measureable, or qualitative. The plan should include continuous measures that meet current ACPE Standards. Oversight of an assessment program for learning and teaching in the Professional Experiential Program . Oversight for assessment of student organization activities. Responsible for assessment of faculty productivity including : teaching, scholarly activity, research, and service. Coordinates the use of the AACP surveys of students, faculty, preceptors, and alumni, assess this information, and communicate the findings to appropriate College standing committees. Complete assignments as assigned by the Dean. Serve as a member of the College Leadership Team .

Required Qualifications

The applicant should have a Ph.D. or PharmD with post-graduate training or equivalent experience, and a minimum of three years of experience conducting, managing and leading assessment activities. Comprehensive knowledge of ACPE accreditation standards is preferred. A demonstrated record of academic teaching, research productivity, and professional service and the leadership skills necessary to promote these qualities among the faculty; experience in administration, including policy development and program development, administrative experience, a track record of leadership and collegiality. Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
