Job Description

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Brooklyn unit of the Education/Special Education Program. Work directly with the Site Director and Advisors on administrative tasks and assist with daily activities.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assists with preparing and inputting general correspondence, memoranda, student admission materials, and other documents as needed Schedules appointments and meetings and prepares meeting minutes for the program administrators and faculty Handles requests for assistance and questions from students; provides information and clarifications to students as needed Become familiar with admission procedures, maintenance of pertinent records, and the use of current electronic forms of application and access Fields all phone requests and refers calls to appropriate office or individual if needed Maintains all files and records pertinent to the program Assists with preparation of program reports Compiles and tabulates statistical information on students and the program Coordinates with other GSE programs as well as other units of Touro, including Student Services Performs special projects and assignments as requested by the Chair Performs additional administrative tasks relevant to the successful management of the GSE as identified by the Site Director
Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Strong interpersonal skills
Well organized
Able to prioritize tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Computer Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

Physical Demands

Extensive Use of Computers
Excessive sitting and standing
