Job Description

Highly motivated, hardworking educator to be hired at the instructor or assistant professor level to assist in the teaching of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and related topics associated with Preventative Medicine and Public Health

Job Duties

The faculty position specifically involves collaborating with faculty on the sister Harlem campus in the delivery of a course that involves an overview of Preventative Medicine and Public Health, evidence-based medicine, epidemiology and common statistical methods used in the field of public health. Additional teaching responsibilities may include Professionalism and Medical Ethics and Introduction to Cultural Competency Courses. Although the primary responsibilities will be teaching medical students, faculty members are also assigned the administrative committees of the college and are encouraged to develop their own research programs and participate in scholarly activity

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate be comfortable teaching in a post-graduate setting and will possess a graduate level degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in any of the topics mentioned in the job responsibilities section.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the following areas: Relevant content expertise, research techniques, instructional design, delivery and assessment, course management, psychometrics/statistics, learning theory, public speaking, effective communication, conflict management

Preferred Qualifications

Basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite,
Including Powerpoint, Word, Outlook and Excel, as well as software used to prepare and administer written exams electronically.
Frequent travel to the branch campus location in Manhattan, New York.

Physical Demands

Periods of standing/sitting.
