Job Description

The IDM Engineer supports the vision and direction of the IDM Architect in support of the Institutes business objectives and requirements. Consults on all aspects of Information Security across the enterprise, provides information security advice, and evaluates the risks associated with new and existing technologies as they relate to identity management and access controls.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Integrate solutions for Identity Management platform as developed by IDM architect
• Ensures that all data is protected from unauthorized modification, destruction and disclosure.
• Installs new software releases and system upgrades.
• Maintains and monitors systems to ensure infrastructure integrity.
• Builds application integration framework.
• Assists with integration, implementation, and administration of IDM framework
• Participates in the solution development process for internal business units.
• Leads testing: functionality of the product or issue resolution.
• Escalates issues to management and other teams when appropriate; follows up on issues and the results of issue resolutions.
• Proposes proactive measures to prevent issues.
• Keeps management informed of technical trends and/or emerging technology.
• Actively participates to improve procedures and standards.
• Represents the organization as a prime contact with regard to support
• Provides training and technical guidance to less experienced team members and internal customers.
• Performs other functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
• Certifications such as CISSP or GCIH desired, a plus

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of and skill in using a very diverse set of software packages: including Microsoft Windows and Office, Backboard, Adobe products, statistics software, and multimedia software
• Windows Server
• Attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

Computer Skills
• Knowledge in Java/Groovy scripting
• Web/application development (e.g. .NET, JSP, JSON, PHP, XML, maven, apache/Tomcat)
• Scripting languages (Python, PS)
• Proficiency of LDAP, Active directory
• Knowledge of federation management (SAML, Shibboleth)
• Ability to perform database scripting (MSSQL, MYSQL, Oracle)
• Knowledge of SaaS (i.e. Tableau, O365)
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (JIRA – source code management, code review, testing, etc)

• Minimal travel in the New York Metropolitan area

• Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)
