Job Description

The Director of Student Affairs is responsible for all student-related activities on campus, including, creating and updating the course schedules and final exam schedules, coordinating new student orientation, and overseeing on-campus events. In performing these long-term projects and several short-term responsibilities, the Director of Student Affairs works with members of the administration, faculty, students, and operations, as well as outside vendors and members of other Touro campuses.

Job Duties

• Oversees all aspects of producing a final course schedule each semester, including working with members of the administration and faculty
• Acts as liaison between faculty and students
• Creates a day-by-day schedule and assigns classrooms to courses
• Creates a final exam schedule
• Creates folders to be sent to new students with information about the college prior to each semester
• Organizes and manages new student orientation and registration
• Prepares all aspects of registration for returning students
• Works with on-site vendors to maintain quality for students in campus cafeteria
• Manages LCW and other events on campus throughout the year
Other Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots issues with faculty and administration e.g., requests to change a room, to coordinating programs and events, etc.
• Sends weekly e-blast to students with important notices, deadlines and events
• Manages petty cash
• Works with administration, student body and student government to organize clubs, speakers, and events
• Creates a schedule and organizes van service with an outside party. Deals with any issues or questions that arise throughout the semester regarding the shuttle
• Addresses student complaints and follows up to find solutions
• Performs other related duties, as required

Required Qualifications

Education, Preparation, and Training
• Baccalaureate Degree, Master’s degree is a plus
• Requires excellent organization, time-management, multi-tasking and inter-communication skills
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to the particular constituencies served on campus

• Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal, and written and expresses thoughts in an organized, concise manner.
• Good listening skills
• Ability to work well with various constituencies, including students, faculty and administrative staff
• Ability to identify priorities and work with serious time constraints
• Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Computer Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Blackboard
• Graphic Design skills is a plus

Physical Demands

• Extensive use of computers
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 5 lbs.
