Job Description

Mid-level development position in a fast paced advancement office. Responsible for coordinating, arranging, and staff support for all law school events including, but not limited to: fundraising events, networking events, school conferences, seminars, and special programs. Responsible for all record keeping including: data/gift entry and correspondence, including pledge reminders and donor acknowledgement. Responsible for all office bookkeeping operations. Responsible for list management including address changes and mailing labels. Responsible for obtaining statistical reports from RE data base. Responsible for coordinating meetings, making appointments, etc.

Job Duties

• Coordinates, arranges, and attends all law school events at the Law Center or offsite. Staffing for events includes some evenings and weekends.
• Coordinates volunteers to staff events when needed.
• Telephone and other follow-up as necessary with vendors, alumni and donors with regard to all events and programs.
• Accurate recordkeeping for all events. This includes sponsorship and attendance responses to events, event budget management, etc.
• Handles travel arrangements for special guests and speakers.
• Handles all aspects of special events including: working with caterers, event set-up, gifts, awards, handling correspondence, mailings, invitations, etc.
• Responsible for all record keeping including: data and gift entry, files, reports, correspondence (letters, documents, pledge reminders, donor acknowledgments), etc.
• Responsible for data entry for the various programs of the Institutional Advancement Office including – annual fund, major gifts, program support, and various events.
• Responsible for list management including address changes and data entry.
• Obtains statistical reports from RE data base.
• Responsible for answering phones/receptionist duties, coordinating meetings, making appointments, etc.
• Responsible for office bookkeeping operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to problem solve and exhibit a positive attitude while dealing with challenges
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
• Must be able to take direction well in a fast-paced environment and work well with all members of the Touro community including donors, Board members, staff, funders, alumni, students, and faculty.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Proven ability as a team player
• Passion for digital media and all social media
• Drive and ability to lead change to implement initiatives
• Outstanding ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high level results
• Strong analytical skills and project management skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including mail merge and excel
• Ability to exhibit a personal responsibility and commitment to work; follow-through and accountability

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior event planning experience is a plus
• Banner One Software knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with Raisers’ Edge Software and Net Community is a plus

Computer Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
• Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

Physical Demands

Able to lift 5 lbs.
