Job Description

Act as a Touro server expert in all areas of Windows technology, including configuration and management of infrastructure servers, scripting, design of s systems, server remediation, third level support and general high level operational duties.

Job Duties

• Configuration and management of critical infrastructure applications such as identity management, Shibboleth, and storage technologies.
• Knowledge and application of scripting and other power shell and programming languages that will support management and configuration of applications.
• Closely interacting with Touro and other experts in Windows and other Touro supported applications.
• Redesign, redeployment and administration of Active Directory & Group Policy, including merging of domains and organizational units (OU). This includes merging into a centrally managed Office 365 environment.
• Windows server remediation of vulnerabilities, including:
• testing prior to deployment to production,
• development of and compliance with baselines,
• deployment of security configurations, and
• patch management for both physical & virtual servers.
• Oversee server infrastructure compliance including analysis of baseline compliance and vulnerabilities,

• Development and testing of strategies to improve business continuity for critical services and infrastructure

• Set up of new and transferred Windows server infrastructure, both physical and virtual, into co-located data centers.
• Experience scripting across Windows infrastructures as well as scripting within a multi-tiered environment.
• Provide third level operational support
• Assist with the management of Office 365 Exchange/Outlook email as well as Gmail.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience
• 4 or more years as a technology professional
• Experience in higher education desirable

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of successfully engineering and implementing projects
• 4 years of server infrastructure technical design, deployment and operations experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, including technical knowledge of windows clustering.
• 4 years experience with DNS and other network related technologies. Understanding how Microsoft Windows operates in a Cisco environment .
• Enterprise server data center experience supporting hundreds of servers: physical and virtual.
• Strong knowledge of HP hardware, blade and Flex technology as well as EMC technology.

• Scripting expertise with common scripting tools as well as with Java and Javascript as well as real functional experience with SQL Server, PL SQL, and VMWare.

• Proven experience writing documentation that will be usable by others.

• Proficiency in enterprise monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds and ExtraHop.

• Must possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to communicate and work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with rapid deployment tools such as Puppet, Salt Stack, and Chef desirable.

• Experience with SCCM application and package creation and deployment as well as Windows image creation.

• Technical certifications e.g. MCSA required, MCSE, MCP, desirable.

• Experience with Linux and other Unix versions desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook as well as IT analysis tools.
