The Director of Special Events & Administrative Assistant is responsible for planning and managing of events, managing department staff, collaborating effectively and providing support to the Dean of Students
Provides the following support:Leadership and direction in the execution of high quality events of campus/off campus ceremonies Responsible for event logistics and coordination for events which includes problem-solving, decision making, and interaction with vendors Vendor management: handle coordination of event vendors (includes invitation design, printing and mailing, caterers, florists, entertainment) Event marketing such as advertising, mailings, posters, flyers, and promotional materials Other developmental projects/events as assigned Manage logistical aspects surrounding events, such as: Research venues Create event plan Invitations and other print materials RSVPs Event flow and staffing Food/beverage, décor, and rentals Manage work of staff, consultants and volunteers assisting with events Works closely with the administration/ student services and assists with any other duties as requested by the Dean of Students Responsible for executing various administrative duties including preparations for meeting and events Responsible for typing memos, letters, and general correspondence Responsible for entering and updating information into the system and creates reports Meets and greets all visitors Processes on-line documents Interacts with different departments Prepares requisitions for department, follows up on difficulties; Keeps track of all orders by the department Responsible for general administrative support Participates and attends meetings Liaison between Dean and students Other duties as assigned.
