Job Description

The Benefits/Leave Administrator is responsible for management of and following policy and procedures in the following areas: Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); Reasonable Accommodation (RA); Short Term Disability (STD); Long Term Disability (LTD); Workers Compensation (WC); Life Insurance and assistance as needed with employee benefits and leaves.

Job Duties

Responsible for all leave administration that involve frequent private and sensitive contact with employees and their healthcare providers. Must maintain updated knowledge of the regulations and procedures for all FMLA and RA Leaves.
• Assists employees with all aspects of FMLA, Reasonable Accommodation, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Workers Compensation benefits.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to employees and their supervisors.
• Maintains the tracking, on a daily basis, of every FMLA and RA leave.
• Manages the Time & Attendance for all FMLA and RA leaves.
• Responsible for b i-weekly invoicing of benefit costs for all FMLA and RA leaves.
• Process Life Insurance Claims
• Assists the Benefits Manager and/or Director with benefits and related special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Expert knowledge of FMLA, RA and other Federal and State leave requirements.
• Minimum one year experience in leave administration
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong investigative and methodical approach skills.
• Must demonstrate excellent awareness of deadlines and meet them 100%.
• Requires ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with frequent high levels of urgency or sensitivity.
• Should exhibit outstanding responsiveness to employees and their supervisors, when applicable, in a timely manner.
• Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and organization skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Computer Skills
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Banner HRIS system a plus.

• Limited local travel when required.

Physical Demands

• Extensive use of computers.
• Extensive time sitting and standing.
• Able to lift up to 5 lbs.
